CST Studio Suite – Python Scripting
In this course you’ll get introduced to the basics of Python scripting – how to define variables and functions, how to find and re-arrange data as well as how to perform mathematical operations and to visualize the data. This knowledge is then applied when using Python scripting to automate workflows in CST Studio Suite. Python scripting will be used together with CST to setup your simulation projects, in terms of defining geometries and importing/exporting e.g. material properties or results. Python will also be used for starting the CST solver and postprocessing results.

Course objectives:
- Being able to write and execute Python scripts within CST to automate repetitive tasks.
- Being able to control CST from an IDE or Jupyter Notebook, for an efficient Python scripting workflow
- After the course you will be able to control CST with Python; set up simulation projects, run simulations, and import/export data and post-process results.
The course covers the following topics:
- Python Fundamentals
- How to get started using Python Scripting with CST
- Setting up a 3D Simulation project in CST using Python
- Setting up a Schematic Simulation project in CST using Python
- Use Python to export results from CST to Python for postprocessing
Who should attend?
Engineers who need to increase their knowledge in automation and scripting in CST. It’s not necessary to have prior knowledge in Python scripting, but basic scripting/programming knowledge is assumed.
