The integration gap
The Product Development team at Tractian utilized the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud; however, it was not integrated with their ERP system (SAP Business One). The internal workflow depended partly on manual handling, with PLM data informally transferred to personnel who manually entered it into SAP and then returned the results via email or file sharing. This approach created process bottlenecks and heightened the risk of human error.
Connecting 3DEXPERIENCE with SAP
The TIF ERP Connector on the cloud enabled seamless connectivity between 3DEXPERIENCE on Cloud and SAP Business One. Implemented with the support of TECHNIA and the local Dassault Systèmes partner TECMES, the solution delivered:
- Structured identification of PLM data aligned with ERP requirements
- Automated data loading and document exchange from PLM to ERP
- Synchronization of Manufacturing BOMs
- Reduced manual entry through automated parameter and information exchange
- One- and two-directional metadata flow
The full integration was completed in under two months and is now fully operational in production.
