Abaqus is great for solving non-linear problems. Because of this, convergence issues can and will happen. Sometimes Abaqus can’t find a solution to the problem provided. Understanding why things go wrong is often a large part of solving the problem. In this presentation, we will discuss some common challenges and easily made mistakes, to become better at solving the puzzle of convergence issues in Abaqus.

Topics covered:

  • What is the convergence puzzle?
  • How to Improve your chance of having a convergence solution
  • How to avoid simple mistakes
  • Understand and apply contact options correctly
  • Convergence is user-defined to an extent
