Can you ensure that solid-based features inherit the colors of surface-based features?

Yes, you can enable solid-based features to inherit the colors of the surface-based features used to create them. This functionality is particularly useful for maintaining visual consistency between surfaces and solids during the design process. Here’s how you can manage this:

  • Access preferences:
  • Enable or disable color inheritance:
    • Look for the option related to color inheritance. If you want solid bodies to automatically adopt the color of their parent surface, ensure the corresponding tickbox is selected.
    • If you prefer solid bodies to retain their original color, leave the tickbox unselected.
  • Apply changes:
    • Once configured, any new solid-based feature created from a surface will follow the selected behavior (inherit or not inherit colors).

This feature enhances flexibility in managing visual properties and allows designers to choose between retaining original solid colors or adopting surface colors for better visualization and communication of design intent.
