Dassault Systèmes have certified various levels of CATIA V5, CATIA/ 3DEXPERIENCE and various other of its applications on Microsoft Windows 10. However, what is not obvious is that it is only certified on certain build levels of Windows 10. These Operating System (OS) Requirements are outlined in the Program Directory for each version/release of a Dassault Systèmes’ application – such as CATIA. All information can be found in the online program directory.
To view the specific OS requirements for your Dassault Systèmes application, click as follows:
1. Select the application and level then select Go
2.Login to your Dassault Systèmes account
3. Once the program directory loads: Confirm your application, level and service pack/fix pack level
4. Browse to HW&SW requirements and Platform Support Policy
Hardware requirements are equally as important, and users are always advised to ensure the correct hardware requirements are also met. The hardware requirements can be found at in the support-section of Dassault Systèmes website.
For example, if the user is using 3DEXPERIENCE 2018x FP1822, only the following OS’s are supported and take extra note of the applicable update/ build levels:
This is required when purchasing new PCs or laptops which may be delivered with a new Windows 10 build that is not certified. It is best to confirm with the vendor which OS and build level will be supplied on delivery.
If you have upgraded recently to a higher build number, you can roll back the update within 10 days, otherwise you will have to perform a reinstall of windows. Please see the following article from Microsoft: “How to Use the Rollback Function in Windows 10 1709, 1703 and Earlier Versions of Windows 10”.
Failing to adhere to the correct OS and build number requirements may result in reduced performance, unforeseen bugs and various other effects that may negatively impact the user experience. Additionally, if you are entitled to Dassault Systèmes support, requests may not be processed if the Dassault Systèmes software is not being used on a certified platform.
If you would like more information or are unable to access the above information, please contact TECHNIA stating the Dassault Systèmes application, version and release level you would like to obtain the information for.
