Now windows within the 3DEXPERIENCE Native client (i.e. CATIA, DELMIA and SIMULIA) can be dragged outside of the main window and onto other monitors. This means you can work much more easily on an individual part while keeping an eye on how changes affecting it appear in its assembly.
In previous releases of 3DEXPERIENCE, switching between collaborative spaces required restarting the Native client for the switch to take effect. This is no longer the case, you may now freely switch between collaborative spaces, just be careful to remember which one you’re in when you save!
All Native apps within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform now have access to offline mode and an improved offline content management where users can see what they have already taken offline locally. You can now be ready to work in places with no reliable network connection in literally two clicks, including taking your licenses offline with you.
And the moment you get your connection back, switching back to online mode is just as quick.
There are various improvements to the Engineering BOM app, including unified lifecycle naming conventions, easier change management and improved information layout, giving a more complete ‘at-a-glance’ understanding of the part being viewed.
3DEXPERIENCE R2017x includes further expansion of Enterprise Change Management, meaning virtually all common types of objects, including all CATIA, SIMULIA and DELMIA objects can now be viewed via easy-to understand change orders to perform electronic signoffs without needing to host lengthy meetings.
Setting approvers has also been simplified, reducing the initial setup time before adoption of Change Orders by your company.
Now 3D representations can be viewed by anyone in the business (with permission) in any browser, with no installation and just the standard access license. Even better, when selecting objects in the viewer, the Bill of Materials will automatically expand to show the part in the tree.
3DPlay also includes annotation, sectioning, measures and explode tools to allow non-CAD users to easily explore the 3D data instantly rather than spending time requesting information from designers or working on false assumptions and making mistakes.
Thanks to improvements in installers, the on premise installation is now significantly quicker and more standardised, serving to reduce time-to-production of 3DEXPERIENCE.
With 3DEXPERIENCE R2017x users can use space on the server as a private file store used to exchange data with anyone else on the system, and also can link to Google Drive and Dropbox. Drag & drop and folder synchronisation are also included. Now you can manage virtually all data types on 3DEXPERIENCE easily.
And that’s all I really have space for here, there are lots of other minor changes and improvements I could go into, but they are far too numerous to mention.
