PLM solutions for large enterprises

Large scale projects based on tried-and-tested methods

Introducing a global PLM solution often involves a large-scale project which puts significant demands both on the company's own organisation and on that of the firm responsible for the implementation process.

The Technia approach is based on tried-and-tested methods and processes which ensure high-quality, fast results for our customers. The project model which we use has two main stages: preparation, and building and implementation.

Preparation
During the preparation phase of a project, the customer and Technia map out and analyse the customer's needs and document them in formal requirements documents and specifications.

Some of the key process steps which take place during this phase include:

  • Configuration management
  • Data migration analysis
  • Business Case analysis
  • ECO management analysis

Once the preparation phase is complete, there will be a final approval and the contract for the build and implementation phase will be signed.

Build and Implementation
In the Build and Implementation phase  the system is defined in more detail, approved, built and then validated.

  • The first step of this phase is to review the requirements and specifications from the preparation phase in order to identify any inconsistencies between the functional requirements and the realisation of the system.
  • The second step is to create the detailed functional and design specifications which will form the basis for the build, testing and validation of the system.
  • The third step is to approve the specifications. Once the specifications are finalised they will be approved.  Once approved, the build part of this phase can start.
  • The fourth step is the build of the system. During this part functional testing will take place as the development of the system takes shape.
  • The fifth and final step of this phase is system acceptance.  In this step the customer carries out system testing to validate and then approve the system.

Once the build and implement phase is complete, the Rollout phase can begin.
