Technia expands customer service with TVC release 6.2

Technia Value Components (TVC) are becoming increasingly important for businesses to maximise their PLM investments.

–With TVC the working environment, interface and usability are all improved. In response to customer requests, Technia released TVC 6.2 on November 11. The main news is improved configurability, says Jan Thunqvist, Director of Products and Technology at Technia.

One of the secrets behind the success of TVC is the fact that Technia works closely with its clients when developing them. Therefore, most enhancements are a direct result of client requests, and Technia is continuously working to improve TVC still further by searching for new, potential components.

Examples of features in TVC release 6.2

  • Configurability enhancements to the “Structure Browser”
    – Possibility to configure printer friendly output with regards to paper size,
       margins etc.
    – Enhanced image handling in table columns
    – More configurable table column settings
    – Performance and stability enhancements
  • Usability enhancements to the “Office Integration” file name presentations
  • New Development Guide with detailed instructions, API documentation and code samples for advanced customisation of the TVC components. Core and Structure Browser documentation available in release 6.2.
  • The “Engineering Change Manager” is now included in the installer and handled like all other components with regard to licensing, installation and documentation.

At the moment, the trend is to focus on usability after the initial deployment of an enterprise PLM in order to maximise the PLM solution. Today there are nine products which solve different problems. There are a number of typical TVC configurations that work for all Technia customers, but there are also demands that are specific for each industry. For example, today there is strong demand from the retail industry which is a relatively new PLM user. Most Many of these users have a design background and have high demands on style, layout, interface and the ability to make adjustments which means that TVC is a necessity for them.

Lately Technia has put extra focused on selling TVC internationally and has been very successful, especially in USA, China, Switzerland and Germany. Technia is currently working on developing TVC 7.0 which will be released this Summer.
