Infrastructure Specialist

Content of work
The infrastructure specialist is responsible for installation and configuration of the database-, application- and file servers at customer sites. This includes traveling, sometimes to the other Technia Nordic customers, sometimes to our customers’ world-wide sites.

The infrastructure specialist is also responsible for planning the architecture of the systems which includes hardware recommendations and advice to the configuration.
He or she is involved in the rollout of the system implementation by doing performance testing/tuning, administration hand-over and customer training.

The infrastructure specialist also helps the support engineers with complex incidents reported by customers.

This role interacts very often with our development teams and customer IT departments.

Background
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Very good knowledge of UNIX, Windows, Oracle (preferably OCP) and web servers (WebLogic and/or WebSphere preferably). Good knowledge of network and security. Script programming knowledge is preferable

Knowledge of DB2 and Linux is desirable.

Education
Degree at University level in Computer Science or equivalent.

Personal skills
The infrastructure specialist work is very flexible so the person needs to be structured and thorough in planning and documentation.

The content of tasks demands the following characteristics: Structured and methodical, analytical and proactive.

The Specialist must be able to work independently, take responsibility, and produce accurate results. As well as a being a team player and be comfortable taking contact directly with the customer.

The role operates under general supervision with wide latitude for independent action.
