The Project Manager has overall responsibility for the execution of our customer projects. The project manager is responsible for managing the project scope, for running the project within agreed budget and schedule as well as for customer satisfaction.
Project can be small, just a few hundred of working hours, or a large program containing up to ten man-years. The project scope could be limited to project definition, solution development, roll-out preparation, roll-out or to any combination of those.
Project planning is one of the Project Manager's main tasks. Typically it starts already as part of the sales project. In case of larger PLM implementations the delivery activities are organized in form of a PLM program, which consists of a number of manageable projects. Project planning contain areas like detailing the project success criteria, planning of the work breakdown structure with scheduling of the tasks, organizing the project, agreeing of the Technia's and customer's responsibilities, risk analysis, planning of communication within the project team as well as to customer of the project.
During execution of the project the Project Manager follows up the project success criteria and overall progress of the project. Project Manager reacts or preferably preacts on deviations from the plans. This may result in updating of the project plan or informing of the project steering group for corrective decisions. Ensuring realization and effectivity of all planned quality assurance activities is one Project Manager's key responsibility.
The project evaluation at the end of the project together with the project team and with the customer is essential for continuous improvement of the delivery process.
Project Manager works closely with his/her project team and with customer's project manager.
Earned experience in Project Management is necessary, preferably from manufacturing business or from IT- business in projects, for which 6 to 12 months length, 3 to 10 persons size project teams.
A minimum of five year’s industry experience is required.
Experience of working with customers is necessary.
Experience from software development process is valued, preferably earned in system integration projects.
Experience of PLM, ERP or CAD systems is a benefit.
Familiarity with common concepts in the field of product development such as concurrent engineering, supplier collaboration, module based product platforms, sourcing, requirements management, manufacturing planning or similar.
Familiarity with object-oriented, web-based solutions, where Java, JSP, XML and XSLT have been the primary technologies, is preferred.
BSc or MSc degree in any Engineering Science or equivalent.
The content of tasks demands the following characteristics; Structured, methodical, analytical, creative, proactive, communicative. True interest in managing relations and internal politics.
The Project Manager must have a good feeling of responsibility and accuracy, ability to work independently, be a team player and take actions to ensure customer satisfaction on his/her own initiative.
Ability to take a leadership position, to be a driving force and a goal-oriented personality is required to be able to deliver solutions with right focus and on time and budget.
Presentation and communication skills are required for creating good customer relationships and for effective internal teamwork.
Genuine interest in continuously developing the methodology's of the PLM implementations and the ability to analyze and create solutions for complex problems are required for the delivery of high quality systems.
The role operates under general supervision with wide latitude for independent action.
