History


Technia has been in the PLM industry for more than 10 years, this is our history so far.

2007
Technia continues to win new contracts from leading Nordic companies; VTI, Marioff, Telenor Cinclus and a World leading retailer are examples of companies that invested in solutions from Technia.

Technia did actively participate in the consolidation of the PLM industry with two acquisitions that made Technia the dominant vendor for ENOVIA SmarTeam in Nordic and added a new business area - Design Solutions, with a PLM offering including CATIA and 3DVIA Composer from Dassault Systèmes and Q-checker from Transcat PLM GmbH & Co. The acquisitions did play a role in Technias strategic ambition to be a Total PLM Partner.

Technia continues to show solid growth and the number of employees is approaching 145 making Technia the biggest PLM vendor in the Nordics.

2006
Technia continues to win new contracts from leading Nordic companies; Andritz, Danaher Motion Stockholm, Flexlink and Marioff invested in solutions from Technia.

During the year Technia also enters new PLM markets; the Metal industry and the Apparel industry with contract from Haglöfs.

Technia broadens it’s PLM offering with Dassault Systèmes and ENOVIA SmarTeam. The ENOVIA SmarTeam offering targeting primarily the SME (small/midsize enterprises) market space and complements Technia’s present enterprise PLM offering - ENOVIA MatrixOne.

Technia continues to show strong growth and the number of employees is approaching 110.

2005
Technia continues to win new contracts from leading Nordic companies. During the year Technia also enters a new PLM market; small/midsize enterprises (SME) with contracts from Sectra Mamea and Proximion.

AddNode’s acquisition of the CAD-Q companies creates new business opportunities in which Technia’s and CADQ’s products and services complement each other and together deliver added value for existing and new customers.

2004
Technia continues to win new contracts from leading Nordic companies. During the year Ericsson, Nokia, Andritz and SonyEricsson invested in solutions from Technia. In December Technia was merged into the new IT-group AddNode, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Technia forms the new business area “Industrial” within the AddNode group.

2002-2003
In 2002 Technia was nominated “Growth Company of the Year” in the Swedish daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. The number of employees is approaching 100 and a new office is opened in Gothenburg. Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace signs a major contract and by the end of 2003 Technia releases “Technia Value Component “a series of own developed value-add components

2000-2001
Despite the recession and the problems suffered by a large number of IT companies, Technia continues to show strong growth. The new customers who have put their trust in us in 2000/2001 include: Elcoteq, Mölnlycke Healthcare, Perkin Elmer LifeScience and Amersham Biosciences, Datex-Ohmeda, Sweden Post, Metso, Ericsson and Nokia The number of employees has grown to over 60 people.

1999
The US analyst CIM Data ranks Technia and Matrix as the leading PDM suppliers in the Nordic countries, with a market share of 34 percent. Technia signs its first agreement with a Norwegian company, Nera Network. At the end of the year it opens an office in Oslo.

1998
During 1998, Scania AB, Seco Tools and MacGregor Cranes, amongst others, decide to invest in Matrix. Technia starts to do business in Finland, and at the end of the year opens a Finnish office in Espoo, outside Helsinki.

1996
The customer base continues to grow and Technia expands its portfolio with the Matrix PDM (product data management) system, developed by the US company MatrixOne. Technia also becomes an authorised Autodesk System Centre.

1994
Technia founded by Staffan Hanstorp, Jonas Gejer and Johan Petrini. Technia's product portfolio includes CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) solutions from Applicon and Autodesk, together with accompanying services.
