Programming for NON programmers

Teaches what involved in customizing the core Matrix product to fit customer specific requirements.

Course Objectives

  • Learn to identify the types of customisations that involve programming in the core product for the client/server and internet platforms.
  • Learn to describe the tools and technologies involved in customisations and identify when they are used. Understand how to implement triggers, methods, wizards, and Web interface customisations.
  • Recognize some programming options or implementation alternatives that impact program performance and deployment choices.
  • Learn when to use MQL/TCL versus ADK and Java; when application dialogs are used.
  • Introduction to Matrix programming tools
  • Program with Matrix Query Language (MQL).
  • Introduction to Matrix Application Library Services: What is it and how to benefit from it
  • How to deploy an application via a Web browser: Web architecture and interface options
  • Introduction to developing custom Web interfaces using Java Server Pages(JSP) technology and the Matrix Application Development Kit (ADK)


Audience
Non-technical people who need an understanding of the customization possibilities of Matrix core product. Project users with overall responsibility for using the Matrix system. Department heads responsible for controlling business objects and other implementation team members.
