Many bright spots at the Innovation Forum
December 19, 2008 | Technia news
Technia PLM Innovation Forum – the largest PLM event in the Nordics – is over for this once. I’m very satisfied with the event in general but there are some things that did stand out:
Despite Despite turmoil in world economy the Forum attracted about 300 participants, 50 percent more than last year, to share and gain knowledge of PLM. I see it as an´indication that our mission to improve innovation, operational efficiency and secure quality is very important regardless of the state of economy.
The event attracted participants from many different segments and businesses – traditional industries, such as Hi-tech, Machinery and Automotive, as well as emerging PLM segments such as Apparel/ Retail and the Construction industry. It’s very interesting that in principal all industries can learn from each other. The evening proved this with many discussions between the delegates.
A number of customers pointed out the importance of PLM in their operations. For example Jone Gjerde at the AKVA group pointed out PLM as an enabler to achieve their future goals. Furthermore Oticon said that PLM makes it possible to increase the innovation in their business.
The internationalization of our business. 32 percent of the participants were from outside the Nordics and some of the speakers, such as Quiksilver’s Chris Schreiber and Chris Clark from GAP, travelled oversea to take part in this event.
Our sponsors, Dassault Systèmes and Microsoft, have in a prominent way supported this event. Among other things it was very exiting listening to Dassualt Systèmes CEO Bernard Charles’ visions and thoughts of the future of PLM. Our position as supplier of CATIA and ENOVIA SmarTeam has strengthened. We started to work with these products 1.5 years ago and today I’m seeing us as the leading supplier even in these segments – with a very skilled and strong team. I’m considering all these aspects as a sign that Technia has grown to be an even more important player on the market.
With 200 employees our delivery capacity and skill sets are unmatched, consequently we can serve our customers broader and more efficiently than before. Now I’m looking forward to the Innovation Forum 2009. We have always strived, and in many ways achieved, to make this event to the most important arena for sharing of knowledge between PLM professionals. Next year we will make the event even better and I think it is vital that it continues to be an event for all levels of PLM professionals. I welcome your comments on how we can improve for 2009, just send an email jg@technia.com or call +46 733 77 24 14.
Technia PLM Innovation Forum 2009 will take place on November 12th at Grand Hôtel as well. Reserve the date!
Yours sincerely
